C. L. Max Nikias Inauguration

Student Participation

We urge all students to attend the historic installation ceremony on Friday, October 15. It has been 19 years since our last inauguration, and then 11 years before that. The inauguration will be a grand event, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience for students.

Classes will not be canceled on Friday morning, but professors with classes scheduled have been encouraged to bring their students to the ceremony. We will make seating available for all professors who would like to bring their classes.

A reception for students will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Argue Plaza, next to the Alumni House. All students have been sent an email invitation to the event with instructions on confirming their attendance at (Code: Student).

At 9:30 a.m., students will be escorted to reserved seating in Alumni Park. The processional begins at 10:00 a.m., followed immediately by the ceremony.

Installation Ceremony

The installation ceremony will begin immediately following the processional. It is at this ceremony that C. L. Max Nikias will be formally installed as the eleventh president of the university. The ceremony will end shortly before noon, at which time all delegates will march back to their original assembly points in reverse order. All guests will remain in their seats until the recessional is complete.

At noon, following the recessional, all guests are invited to attend a celebratory luncheon held in McCarthy Quad. There are no reservations necessary for this lunch - all are welcome.
