About the President
The eleventh president of the University of Southern California, C. L. Max Nikias is a patent-holding electrical engineer who arrived at USC in 1991 to build a multimedia research center. He rapidly earned distinction as an innovator, leader, fundraiser, and scholar. Following a vigorous four-year tenure as dean of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, he served as executive vice president and provost for five years before taking office as president in August 2010.
