Over the last 130 years, the University of Southern California has had many milestones. On Friday, October 15, you will have the opportunity to be part of one of the most important moments in USC’s history. For the first time in nearly two decades, and for only the eleventh time ever, USC will install a new president. Your presence and participation as a member of the Trojan Family will contribute to the power and significance of this moment.
The installation of Dr. C. L. Max Nikias as USC’s eleventh president will be one of the memorable celebrations in the life of the university. We invite you to come to our University Park campus to witness for yourselves the tradition and the pageantry, and to take part in history. There you’ll be among more than 10,000 members of the Trojan Family, including trustees, faculty, students, staff, alumni, civic leaders, and other members of the local community.
The official Inauguration Ceremony will begin in Alumni Park at 10:00 a.m., followed by an all-university picnic, which will last until 2:00 p.m.
We know from experience that Dr. Nikias is a brilliant scholar and an inspiring leader, and we’re confident that he will become one of USC’s most successful presidents. Let’s show him our support by making October 15 a day the entire university community will always remember. We look forward to seeing you there.
